Through my extensive professional experiences as a psychotherapist and coach I've developed an effective skill set that encourages an honest, direct, and compassionate approach to therapy. I highly value active participation between myself and my clients in developing a plan for treatment suited to each individuals needs.  I feel my grounded nature and intuition allows me to connect with a wide range of clients and to use the therapeutic approach that most suits the individual. In therapy and coaching I create a space for clients to discover the truth of their current life situation and to take steps, no matter how small, toward self-improvement and empowerment. My intention is to help client's activate their innate, natural inclination toward greater health and to develop a relationship with themselves they can trust.  Having a trusted professional to guide you in life can be of great value and I consider it a privilege to hold this role for my clients.

In addition to my MA level training in Psychology I hold a degree in Expressive Arts therapy which allows me to complement traditional talk therapy with art therapy techniques when appropriate. My training in Health Science and Fitness also allows me to consider what lifestyle changes could support the therapeutic process. My extensive professional experience includes, yet is not limited to, the following subjects:
Negative Body Image and Self Esteem, Alcoholism and Chemical Dependency (and the effect on family, partners, and children),
Healing from Disordered Eating, Issues of CoDependency, Coping with Grief and Loss, Effective Communication for Greater Intimacy, Developing Integrity and Living Authentically, Healthy Habits of Mind &Body, College/Career Counseling, Creating a Positive Self-Concept, Sexual Identity and Empowerment, and Spiritual Development.

In addition to my Private Practice I've also served as a Mental Health Clinician on an Adolescents unit. Many adolescents/children are faced with great challenges in today's world and are often at a loss for how to communicate the overwhelming emotions they experience.  Early intervention is critical for children demonstrating mental health symptoms and a relationship with a therapist can help them develop the tools to effectively cope with the pressures of life, now and in their future. It is often difficult for kids to share with family/friends, regardless of how loving a family they may have. Authentic communication is a challenge for many adults and for children/adolescents it can be even more difficult. This is where my training in Expressive Arts serves as a great asset in helping kids express what they may not yet have the words for. The use of Expressive Arts in therapy is certainly not limited to children yet is often a natural medium and less intimidating than traditional talk therapy.
